Cloud Infrastructure Modernization

Migrating a regional food manufacturer to Fiji‑hosted cloud with stronger resilience and lower operating risk.

Pacific Foods is a leading supplier of organic food products across the Pacific region, operating multiple production sites and distribution hubs that depend on always‑on systems. As the business expanded, its mix of on‑premises servers and site‑by‑site networks became harder to manage. Performance varied from site to site, backups were inconsistent, and there was no simple way to prove that critical systems could be recovered quickly after an outage.

CloudFlex was engaged to design a modern, Fiji‑hosted cloud and network platform that could support growth while meeting Pacific data sovereignty expectations. Together with the Pacific Foods IT team, CloudFlex mapped the applications, networks, and recovery requirements for each location. This discovery work shaped a phased migration plan that protected day‑to‑day production while moving key workloads into CloudFlex’s Pacific Sovereign Cloud.

Core business applications were migrated to CloudFlex Virtual Cloud, giving Pacific Foods scalable, high‑availability infrastructure hosted in Fiji. High‑performance and licensing‑sensitive workloads were placed on dedicated Bare Metal servers, ensuring predictable performance with no noisy neighbours. Managed Backup as a Service and Disaster Recovery as a Service were implemented for critical systems, with encrypted, policy‑driven backups and tested runbooks to meet defined recovery time and recovery point objectives.

At the same time, CloudFlex simplified the network design linking production sites to the cloud platform. A hub‑and‑spoke model with secure connectivity into CloudFlex datacentres improved visibility and control, while managed monitoring, patching, and incident response reduced the operational load on Pacific Foods’ internal IT team. Regular test failovers and documented procedures gave leadership confidence that the business could continue operating even if a site or system experienced an outage.

Today, Pacific Foods runs its key production and business workloads on a resilient, locally hosted platform that aligns with Pacific data sovereignty requirements. Application performance and reliability have improved across sites, recovery processes are standardised and tested, and the company benefits from CloudFlex as a long‑term ICT partner rather than managing disparate infrastructure on its own.
